We believe there’s a little geek in all of us. That’s why, when we were asked recently, “if you could have anyone as a roommate, who would you pick?” we answered, without any hesitation, Sheldon and Leonard from the hit TV show Big Bang Theory. Maybe that apartment wouldn’t be everybody’s choice, but it would be ours. Of course, living amongst so many science geeks would require extra renters insurance, but that’s OK. It would be worth it.

I currently work for an insurance agency and I sell homeowners insurance. I am considering getting a cell phone to answer calls after 5:00pm and on weekends. I am not sure how lucrative this would be. Do people primarily look for insurance during the week or do they seek convenience on nights and weekends?

The life, car and home insurance company Farmers Insurance Group is being sued by more than 1,000 homeowners from Los Angeles, California for allegedly refusing to honor policyholders’ claims. The claims were made for the damage caused by the Station fire on the plaintiffs’ properties.
According to the charges made by the homeowners living in the Station fire area, Farmers Insurance denied payouts and in some cases, minimized claim payouts for damages caused by the fire and by the ash and soot that came from the blaze. The damages sought by the plaintiffs were unspecified. A spokesman from the insurance firm has stated that Farmers’ legal unit is currently reviewing the lawsuit. Read more…
